Job Title: Senior Full Stack Developer

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid)

Duration: Up to 24 Months

Hours: 35 Hours/Week

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to support a major enhancement initiative for a large-scale public-facing education platform.

This role will be part of a high-impact project focused on expanding enrollment capabilities and improving the digital application experience for families across New York City.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Python, Django, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, testing, and CI/CD, along with experience working on complex web applications in production environments.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and enhance full-stack web applications using Python/Django and React

Develop and maintain REST APIs, backend services, and frontend components

Create and optimize database schemas, migrations, and SQL queries in PostgreSQL

Implement caching and asynchronous task processing using Redis and Celery

Build scalable and maintainable features for admissions and workflow-based systems

Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing

Support deployment across multiple environments and collaborate with DevOps teams

Ensure performance, reliability, and accessibility across user-facing features

Work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions

Required Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience

8+ years of experience with Python and Django

Strong experience with Django REST Framework

6+ years of experience with React

5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL

5+ xywuqvp years of experience with Redis and Celery

4+ years of experience with:

automated testing

CI/CD environments

production support and cross-functional collaboration

Experience building and supporting large-scale, public-facing web applications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in public sector, education, or government environments

Experience with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 AA

Experience with algorithm-based workflows or matching systems

Experience with Cypress or similar testing tools

Familiarity with secure coding best practices and application monitoring tools
