Job Description

Position Summary:

The Student Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse while actively enrolled in a state-approved nursing assistant training program. This position is designed to offer hands-on clinical experience while reinforcing classroom learning, preparing the student for successful completion of the certification process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output as directed.

Provide comfort measures, including positioning, mobility assistance, and use of adaptive devices.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.

Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs.

Communicate observations of changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising nurse.

Assist with transporting patients within the facility.

Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.

Uphold confidentiality and respect patient rights in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Participate in training and evaluations as part of the nursing assistant program requirements.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a state-approved Nursing Assistant training program.

Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and staff.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care practices (preferred).

Physical ability to lift, move, and position patients and equipment.Company Description
