Job Description
Support end-to-end execution of transmission line (69kV-500kV) and substation (13.8kV-500kV) projects, from engineering through construction and closeout
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure alignment on design packages, material delivery, and field execution
Track and maintain project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), budgets, forecasts, and earned value metrics
Review and coordinate engineering deliverables including:
Transmission line routing, structure spotting, and foundation designs
Substation physical layouts, one-lines, three-lines, and grounding plans
Support procurement activities including equipment tracking for major components such as:
Power transformers (69kV-500kV)
Breakers, disconnect switches, and bus systems
Relay panels and control houses
Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and drawing revisions to ensure timely resolution and minimal project impact
Interface with utilities, clients, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to support permitting, design approvals, and construction coordination
Assist with construction oversight and field coordination, including:
Site visits for transmission line construction and substation installation
Monitoring contractor productivity and milestone progress
Supporting outage coordination and energization planning
Ensure adherence to utility standards, NESC, NEC, and safety regulations, particularly for high-voltage environments
Support commissioning and energization activities, including coordination with Protection & Controls and SCADA teams
Identify project risks related to schedule delays, material constraints, and constructability, and assist in mitigation planning
Maintain detailed project documentation, reporting, and communication to stakeholders and leadership

The Successful Applicant
A successful Project Engineer - Transmission & Distribution should have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or related)
2-6+ years of experience in Transmission & Distribution projects
Experience supporting high-voltage (HV/EHV) projects up to 500kV
Understanding of full project lifecycle (design construction closeout)
Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project preferred
Strong communication and coordination skills
