Grinding Machine Operator (.O.D.)

Pay: $19–$28 + (open for negotiation - based on experience)

Shifts: 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Location: Addison, IL

Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements: Resume / Interview / Authorization to work in the U.S./ Background Check/ Drug Test

Our client is a precision manufacturing company specializing in grinding, lapping, and honing. They are seeking an experienced OD Machine Operator to support production within their grinding department.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC, N/C, and manual OD grinding machines safely and efficiently

Perform full machine setups (mounting grinding wheels, setting feeds and speeds, securing workpieces)

Dress grinding wheels to required specifications

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Inspect finished parts using micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and precision measuring tools

Maintain quality standards and production output

Report safety, machine, or quality issues immediately

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Complete shop floor documentation accurately

Qualifications

Experience operating manual and/or CNC OD grinding machines

Mitsubishi, Studer, or Toyoda experience is a plus

Ability to perform independent setups and hold tight tolerances

Proficient with micrometers and calipers (metrology knowledge preferred)

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication)

Ability to lift materials as needed

Willingness to work overtime (weekdays and weekends as required)

Reliable, punctual, and quality-driven
