This position is for our New Bern-Morehead City area.
The Crew Chief is a frontline leadership role responsible for managing restoration projects on site, supervising technicians, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company and industry standards. This position serves as the primary point of contact between the customer, field team, and office, ensuring high quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage daily on site restoration activities for water, fire, mold, and specialty
Cleaning projects
Perform and document job site inspections, moisture readings, and progress updates
Ensure projects follow scope, timeline, and company standards
Safely operate and oversee the use of restoration equipment (extractors, dehumidifiers, air movers, etc.)
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
Supervise, train, and mentor Restoration Technicians
Assign daily tasks and ensure technicians understand job expectations
Enforce safety protocols, PPE use, and company policies
Monitor productivity and quality of work
Provide coaching and feedback to field staff
Act as the primary on site contact for customers
Clearly explain the restoration process and answer customer questions
Provide professional, compassionate service—especially on emergency or loss situations
Address customer concerns promptly and escalate when needed
Complete job documentation accurately and on time (photos, moisture logs, work orders)
Communicate job status updates to Project Managers and office staff
Ensure documentation meets insurance and company requirements
Assist with scope reviews and change orders as needed
Follow and enforce OSHA, IICRC, and company safety standards
Conduct daily safety checks of job sites, vehicles, and equipment
Report incidents, damages, or hazards immediately
Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and readiness
Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years of experience in restoration services (water, fire, mold, or related industry)
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a field environment
Strong understanding of restoration processes and equipment
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on call rotations
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 75lbs and perform physical labor
Preferred:
IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, AMRT) or willingness to obtain
Experience working with insurance claims
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
