JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated Junior / Staff Developer to join our client’s Engineering Excellence Application Security team. This role is ideal for a developer who is eager to grow their skills at the intersection of software development and security, contributing to tooling, automation, and security enablement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, maintain, and enhance internal tools, processes, and applications in support of the application security program.
Leverage GitHub Copilot / Claude UI / Claude Code and AI-assisted development techniques to improve productivity and code quality.
Work within a modern IDE environment (VS Code or equivalent) following established coding standards and practices.
Manage source code using Git-based version control, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
Collaborate within Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise for work item tracking, pipelines, and repository management.
Craft and refine custom AI prompts to maximize the effectiveness of AI coding assistants.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to documentation.
Engage with the application security team to understand security requirements and translate them into working solutions for customers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with a modern IDE such as Visual Studio Code.
Working knowledge of source code management using GitHub or Azure DevOps — branching strategies, pull requests, merge workflows.
Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude UI / CLI or similar AI coding assistants, including custom prompt development.
Strong willingness to learn and grow within the application security domain.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise (boards, repos, pipelines).
Exposure to DevSecOps practices and/or secure coding principles (e.g., OWASP Top 10, secrets management, input validation).
Background or coursework in cybersecurity or information security.
Familiarity with application security concepts such as SAST, DAST, or vulnerability management.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, TTPs, and ISO 27001.
ISC2 certification (e.g., CC, SSCP, CISSP) is a plus.
Demonstrated involvement in the cybersecurity community (e.g., CTF participation, security meetups, open-source contributions, blogging, or professional organizations).
