Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Southern California on a long-term contract basis. This role will involve developing and supporting applications for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. You will have the opportunity to work onsite four days per week, collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance system performance and resolve production issues.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain applications for large-scale projects in the automotive finance domain.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including analyzing and addressing mainframe online and batch abends.
• Optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and reduce processing time.
• Conduct impact analyses across various platforms and applications to ensure seamless integration.
• Create detailed documentation for estimates, design, and development processes.
• Provide on-call support during off-hours for critical production batch operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and meet project goals.
• Leverage expertise in mainframe technologies, including MQ and DB2, to deliver robust solutions.
• Research and address issues related to financial services, such as payment processing, customer service, and loan administration.
• Support testing activities by preparing and delivering unit test plans and results.• Proven experience in the automotive finance industry, with a strong understanding of financial services processes such as payment processing, collections, and bankruptcy.
• Proficiency in mainframe systems and tools, including MQ and DB2.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Familiarity with unit testing practices and deliverables.
• Excellent documentation skills to support design and development activities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work within a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to provide on-call support for production batch processes during non-business hours.
• Experience with systematics or similar financial systems is a plus.
