Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team in Southern California. This role focuses on application development and production support for large-scale projects within the automotive finance industry. As this is a long-term contract position, you will be responsible for maintaining critical systems and ensuring smooth operations while providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support applications for large-scale projects, ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Investigate and resolve production issues, including troubleshooting online and batch processing errors.

• Analyze and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windows.

• Conduct impact analyses across multiple platforms and applications to assess changes effectively.

• Create thorough documentation for estimates, design, and development activities.

• Provide on-call support during off-hours to ensure continuity of production batch operations.

• Utilize mainframe technologies such as MQ, DB2, and other relevant tools to meet project requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of system updates.

• Research and implement best practices for unit testing and quality assurance.

• Apply business knowledge of automotive finance processes, including payment processing, collections, repossession, and recovery.• Proven experience in application development and production support within the automotive finance industry.

• Strong understanding of financial services processes, including lending, payment processing, and collections.

• Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as MQ and DB2.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both online and batch environments.

• Excellent documentation skills for design, development, and estimates.

• Familiarity with unit testing practices and deliverables.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.

• Availability to provide on-call support during non-business hours.
