Draftsman

Evans Roofing Company, Inc. is a national commercial roofing contractor ranked among the top 20 in the country. We are seeking a Pre-Construction Draftsman who is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to support our estimating and project management teams. This position plays a key role in preparing accurate shop drawings, submittals, and documentation to ensure each project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Knowledge & Skill requirements:

General knowledge of AutoCAD and creating 2D drawings.

Able to read and understand construction plans and specifications.

Strong understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and basic calculations.

Computer knowledge with ability to work with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities:

Prepare shop drawings and submittals in a timely, accurate fashion as directed by Pre-Construction Manager, working closely with the Estimator and/or Operating Company involved with each specific project.

Prepare foreman's packets and contract folders with all necessary information to ensure a smooth transition from the Pre-Construction Department to the Operating Company's Project Manager.

Utilize resourceful and creative approaches to streamline the drawing time, foreman packet, and submittal procedures. Including updates and additions to the shop drawing/submittal library as needed.

Support Project Managers by assisting with ongoing revisions to shop drawings and submittals.

Occasionally attend pre-bid meetings and/or perform pre-bid site inspections to determine existing conditions.
