Be part of something greater.** Loyola Medicine, a nationally recognized academic health system and member of Trinity Health, is seeking a **Remote Physician Based Coder** to join our collaborative and mission-driven team.
**Summary:** Assists the Coding Manager with the review of staff assignments for accuracy and assurance of adherence to the Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines.
Assists with day to day operations of Physician Coding Department to ensure productivity standards are met.
**What you'll do:** + Performs daily coding assignments.
Assists with resolving coding questions, maintaining reports.
Answers inquiries in a timely manner.
+ Provide ongoing training to new and experienced physician based coders.
Monitors the efficiency of coding review work queue activity.
+ Monitor all EPIC physician based work queues.
+ Assist with research in regards to coding questions and denials.
Monitors the coding follow-up work queues to identify root causes or trends in order to propose system solutions and reduce denials.
Monitors coding claim review edits work queue.
+ Attend coding workshops and report information to coding staff.
+ Assist coding education staff with provider education.
Assists with developing training guides and procedural manuals.
Documents workflows and ensures staff follows workflows consistently.
Helps with the training of new staff **What you'll need:** + Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2 - 3 years of college.
