Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Admissions Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and welcoming admission process for residents and their families while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Admissions Coordinator serves as a key liaison between hospitals, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of the admissions process from initial inquiry through resident arrival
Communicate with hospitals, referral sources, families, and internal departments to facilitate timely admissions
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility (Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, managed care)
Complete and maintain accurate admission documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
Provide tours of the facility and respond to inquiries from prospective residents and families
Collaborate with nursing, social services, and therapy teams to ensure appropriate placement and care planning
Track bed availability and maintain daily census updates
Participate in marketing and outreach efforts to build and maintain referral relationships
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous experience in admissions, healthcare, long-term care, or medical office setting preferred
Knowledge of insurance verification and payer sources (Medicare/Medicaid)
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office
Preferred Skills
Experience working in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility
Familiarity with case management or discharge planning
Marketing or community outreach experience
