Roll Stand Operator Payrate: $19.05 2 Openings (Days to Night rotation every 28 Days) Summary The candidate is responsible for assuming all duties as a Roll Stand Operator.
The candidate will be required to rotate.
Requirements * Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard net, gloves, facemask * Essential Knowledge: Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiply, divide, converting fractions, & able to read a tape measure,), Basic computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, outlook). * Candidate's performance will be assessed, evaluated, and required to pass a test (written/physical) prior to progressing to next position.
* Candidates will be required to progress and learn each position on Web 6.
Pressman will be required to learn and cover the Roll Stand position during breaks, vacations, & on coming shifts call ins.
* Must be willing and able to troubleshoot and operate palletizer and delivery table.
* General: Compliance with workplace rules, policies, and procedures, SQF, seniority, attendance points, and past performance Essential Functions * Change pin cylinders * Clean drip pans * Rebuild printing decks * Clean rolls and set up splices efficiently * Help Operator change die and hard plate * Help rethread paper during paper break.
* Install and remove print sleeves in Printer.
* Install and remove sleeved anilox in printer.
* Setup stacker as required by Manger, Supervisor, or Lead * Completing line clearance down the whole web (All old material cleared from machine before MR is finished) * Clean cylinders of dried ink * Dump trash carts as required.
* Follow strict instructions from Cutter Technicians.
* Must be able to read and understand a job jacket * Inspect cartons for cutting, print and register.
* Stack skids neatly or load blanks properly into cases.
* Keep the floor, printer, and cutter clean at all times.
* Set up and operate automatic stacker when needed.
* Other duties as assigned by the operator or 1st pressman to keep the press running.
* Able to operate a headset in order to proactively communicate issues to Cutter and Printer Technicians * Actively engaged in Performance Excellence projects and assignments.
* Engage in monthly safety projects or assignments (can be changed by the safety pillar) * Understands Plant and Web Goals to meet Plant Production goals * Recertify on routine intervals as pressman for Machine as required by T&D Pillar * Follow all DEC and 5S checklist as required.
* Responsible for having Vacations/call ins covered when absent.
* Assist on other cutters when needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements * Standing with lower body movement during the majority of the shift.
* Stacking off cartons typically weighing up to *45lbs from table at waist level and packing in a box, pallet, or palletizer.
Candidate must visually be able to detect variances in job numbers, register, and print.
* Candidate may be exposed to noise and/or humidity and heat.
