Job Title: Supplies Operator Job Description The Supplies Operator supports product assurance by operating prototype and competitive printer products in a controlled lab environment.
This role focuses on paper feed testing, print and copy quality evaluation, reliability and robustness testing, and careful review of printed output to identify defects.
The Supplies Operator loads and unloads paper, monitors printer performance, documents issues, and enters test data into a computer system while working closely with test engineers to provide feedback on product performance.
Responsibilities * Operate prototype development printers and related equipment for test purposes, including loading paper, removing printed output, and monitoring performance.
* Conduct paper feed tests to evaluate paper feed reliability and identify jams, misfeeds, or other paper handling issues.
* Perform print and copy quality testing by reviewing output for defects such as streaks, smears, misalignment, or color inconsistencies.
* Support printer robustness testing by running extended print jobs and repetitive cycles to assess durability and performance over time.
* Assist in testing competitive printer products to compare performance, reliability, and print quality.
* Participate in sub-system testing, including components such as paper feeders, inserter machines, and print mechanisms.
* Perform printhead and cartridge yield testing by tracking output volumes and monitoring performance over the life of the supplies.
* Conduct printhead and cartridge reliability testing, documenting any failures, inconsistencies, or performance issues.
* Review printed output carefully for defects and accurately document findings for use by test engineers.
* Enter test data and observations into a PC using basic computer applications and data entry tools.
* Clear printer problems such as paper jams and error messages safely and efficiently, following established procedures.
* Provide clear, timely input to test engineers on product performance, reliability, and any issues observed during testing.
* Handle and lift large paper boxes and supplies, including weights up to 50 pounds, as needed to support testing activities.
* Perform repetitive motions associated with loading paper, operating equipment, and handling printed output throughout the shift.
* Maintain good attendance and reliability to support ongoing test schedules and project timelines.
* Follow all lab safety, cleanliness, and equipment handling procedures to maintain a controlled, clean work environment.
Essential Skills * Ability to lift heavy items, including large paper boxes up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
* Strong attention to detail when feeding paper, monitoring printer operation, and reviewing printed output for defects.
* Fundamental computer knowledge, including using a mouse and entering data into a PC.
* Basic understanding of product performance concepts and the ability to follow test procedures accurately.
* Experience performing repetitive motions and comfort with tasks that require repeated actions throughout the shift.
* Good attendance and reliability, with a consistent record of showing up on time and supporting scheduled work hours.
* Work history that includes standing on your feet for long periods during the day, including long shifts.
* Demonstrated longevity in employment history, showing commitment and stability in previous roles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience working as an operator, technician, or in a hands-on production or lab role.
* Familiarity with inserter machines or similar paper-handling equipment.
* Comfort working with general lab or production equipment and following technical instructions.
* Ability to communicate clearly with test engineers and team members about product performance and issues observed.
* Strong work ethic and a focus on accuracy, consistency, and safety in all tasks.
* Interest in supporting sustainable practices and contributing to products that positively impact communities.
Work Environment This role is based in a controlled, clean lab environment focused on printer and supplies testing.
You will work primarily with prototype and competitive printer products, inserter machines, and related test equipment.
The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m.
to 2:30 a.m.
The work involves standing for long periods, performing repetitive motions, and lifting large paper boxes and supplies.
You will use a PC for data entry and documentation and follow established lab procedures to maintain safety, cleanliness, and equipment integrity.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.42 - $15.42/hr.
