Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifier codes. This role supports billing, compliance, reporting, and research activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifier codes for outpatient encounters
Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to ensure coding accuracy
Apply coding guidelines in compliance with official standards and regulations
Utilize knowledge of APC reimbursement methodologies
Abstract and enter required data into coding systems
Ensure adherence to organizational policies and compliance standards
Communicate with providers and clinical staff for documentation clarification (query process)
Provide guidance and support on coding-related issues
Maintain productivity and quality standards within timelines
Support team development and mentor junior coders when needed
Participate in ongoing education and professional development
Ensure data integrity and patient confidentialityQualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associate Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
Certifications (Any One Required):
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Certified Medical Coder (CMC)
Certified Coding Associate (CCA)Experience and Skills
Minimum 2 years of outpatient coding experience (E/M coding required)
Experience in Neurosurgery or Neurology coding preferred
At least 6 months of HCC coding experience preferred
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines
Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
