Inpatient Medical Coder (Remote - Contract)

We are partnering with a leading regional health system to bring on Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity supporting a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment.

Position Overview

Role: Inpatient Medical Coder

Location: 100% Remote

Schedule: Full-time, aligned to PST business hours (8am-5pm)

Contract Length: 4 months (with potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Be Doing

Perform inpatient coding across a variety of specialties including:

Cardiology

Neurology

Surgical cases

Transplants

NICU and more

Ensure accurate and timely coding in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards

Meet productivity and quality benchmarks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

CCS required (RHIT or RHIA also considered)

3+ years of inpatient coding experience

Experience in an academic medical center or trauma setting preferred

Strong background in multi-specialty inpatient coding

Technical Requirements

Epic (EHR) experience

3M encoder experience

Performance Expectations

Productivity: ~2.4 charts per hour

Accuracy: 95%+
