JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing a concrete construction project(s) from initiation to completion. The Project Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating and directing all aspects of a construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and safety regulations. The Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Responsible for managing project supervisors/leaders assigned to specific projects. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. May manage sub-contractors and their workforce.
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modify work schedules or plans as required.
Reviews and enforces QC program
Perform in depth review of all essential elements of projects assigned to identify challenges to mitigate or opportunities to realize.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Motivates and directs staff to achieve departmental/organizational goals and to maintain a high level of productivity and morale.
Enforces safety policies and procedures.
Educate/evaluate/counsel/guide subordinates in the execution of their job responsibilities.
Performs all other work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree (preferred), preferably in Engineering
Good understanding of construction methods, scheduling and blueprint reading.
3-5 years’ work experience as a Project Manager in concrete construction.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Valid Drivers License with a clear MVR.
Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday
Able to work during nautical hours (twilight periods) as needed.
May stoop, kneel or ben on an occasional basis.
Occasionally climb stairs or ladders, etc.
Regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery
Able to wear personal protective equipment as required, including but not limited to steel toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, vest, etc.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
