Starting Hourly Pay\: $30.55 per hour

Key Electronic Design Specialist Tasks:

Provides computer-generated graphic design & visual communications services (e.g., Developmental Disabilities (DD) Council internal/external websites)

Maintains & updates pages of DD Council's website using the Innovate Ohio Platform (IOP) Web Content Management system

Creates & updates content for website (e.g., news articles, information for events calendar, uploading Council publications, posting Notice of Funds Available (NOFA), press releases, announcements, etc.)

Ensures timely posting of all collateral from staff members for DD Council meetings (e.g., agendas, minutes, location, & remote login information)

Ensures content & design of website follows Council's approved branding strategies & graphic design collateral

Ensures accessibility & usability of pages & uploaded documents (e.g., PDF files & images uploaded to website)

Embeds videos & online forms onto web pages, including the use of an online program to create virtual flipbooks of Council's publications & reports

Monitors website performance by analyzing statistics by using PIWIK

Follows policies & procedures in accordance with IOP, Office of Information Technology (OIT) & DODD directives

Writes &/or edits publications developed by DD Council (e.g., booklets, fact sheets, presentations, newsletters, annual reports, etc.)

Makes decisions based on the intended use of the publication for how it will be presented (e.g., print publication, online publication, video, or other formats.)

Creates & launches dissemination plan of new product

Follows DD Council's branding guide to develop layout/design of publications (e.g., booklets, fact sheets, presentations, newsletters, annual reports, website graphics, social media graphics, internal use products, etc.)

Coordinates with State Printing for print publications

Works collaboratively with Public Awareness grantee to create & post content for all of Council's social media channels (i.e.,

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn)

Ensures content & graphics follows Council's approved branding strategy

Works collaboratively with Public Awareness grantee to create information campaigns using online tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, & video programs)

Uses social media marketing analytic tools to monitor performance of the different platforms

Develops, plans, & implements campaigns as agreed upon by Council staff (e.g., new membership campaigns, Five-Year State Plan activities, public input surveys, specific issue campaigns, press releases, etc.)

Collaborates with Public Awareness grantee to optimize public outreach by use of PR software & other media

Trains, provides technical assistance, & oversees staff implementation of how to use the IOP Web Content Management system

Post to social media platforms, digital marketing tools (email & survey campaigns)

Performs other related duties & special projects as assigned

36 months' training or 36 months' experience in electronic graphic design AND 12 months' experience with hyper-text markup language for website/web page design &/or development.

OR

Completion of associate core program in graphic visual communication technology or multimedia production technology AND 36 months' training or 36 months' experience in website/web page creation, design &/or development.

OR

Completion of undergraduate core program in visual communications with emphasis on graphic design/industrial design &/or fine arts AND 24 months' training or 24 months' experience in website/web page creation, design &./or development.

OR

Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
