Salary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Group Practice. This role is essential in providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in psychopharmacology and patient assessment, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Duties
Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate mental health and substance use disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor their effects, adjusting dosages as necessary.
Conduct individual/family therapy sessions with patients regarding mental health management, substance use disorders, emotional disorders, and nutritional deficiencies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and therapists to ensure continuity and holistic care of the patient
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing.
Maintain detailed records of client visits and progress
Development of individualized treatment plans
Order/interpret labs for all clients on caseload
Treat client population in accordance with company guidelines & standard operating procedures
Document in accordance with state and insurance guidelines
Complete forms/letters as requested by clients for various needs
Complete documentation in a timely manner
Complete weekly timesheet
Diagnose and treat all mental health and emotional disorders
Communicate with pharmacies regarding refill requests
Participate in community outreach and education as needed/requested
Completing prior authorizations for medications ordered
Check company email regularly
Provide individual therapy to clients as needed/requested by them
Requirements
Masters degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Current ANCC certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Active Maryland state nursing license
Malpractice/liability insurance
Active DEA/CDS registrations
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and patient assessment techniques are a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to providing empathetic and culturally competent care.
