DESCRIPTION:
Special Education Paraprofessional
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide daily 1-to-1 instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with Board approved curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet or be able to meet NJ “Highly Qualified Paraprofessional” requirements, which include one of the following: Minimum of 48 college credits; Associate’s degree or higher; or Passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
Successful Criminal History Clearance
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27SY is Step SM1, <30 Credits ($31,688) - Step SM10 BA/BS ($45,113).

ANNUAL EVALUATION: Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
