Role Summary

As an Account Director, you are both a strategic operator and team leader. You will own flagship client relationships, guide integrated Brand Comms and SocialPR® strategies, and strengthen how work is built, delivered, and scaled across the agency. This role requires both cultural fluency and operational discipline. A core expectation is leveraging AI to accelerate output, train teams, and build smarter internal and client-facing systems.
Key Responsibilities: Client Leadership & Account Ownership
Strengthening client leadership, team execution and operational consistency, help steer the agency's growth culture
Own senior client relationships and act as a true strategic partner, not just a lead point of contact
Translate client business goals into culturally fluent integrated brand communications, SocialPR®, creator/influencer activations, and multimedia strategies that drive measurable outcomes
Ensure the work is grounded in real cultural understanding and built for emerging platforms where attention is shifting
Cross-Functional Campaign Strategy
Lead development of high-impact integrated campaigns that blend earned media, creator ecosystems, partnerships, and emerging platforms
Guide narrative frameworks, media positioning, and cultural insights that resonate with next-gen audiences
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Manage and support team leads to ensure consistent performance and accountability across accounts
Mentor junior staff coaching for excellence, modeling strategic thinking, and building leadership bench
Contribute to agency growth through input on service offerings, innovation, cultural strategy, and participating in financial management
Operational Excellence
Reinforce internal systems (SOPs, resource planning, campaign analysis) to drive efficiency and quality at scale
Partner with Ops, HR, and SLT to refine workflows, and lead AI integration into team processes and client-facing systems
Agency Strategy & Vision
Contribute perspective on agency direction and client trends
Be a core voice in agency direction, contributing to product innovation, service offerings, and cultural strategy
Provide insight to leadership on client opportunities, campaign performance and account growth
Experience
8-10 years in agency environments (brand communications, PR, strategy) with a proven track record of leading high-stakes client work
Deep cultural fluency across sports, subcultures, technology, emerging media and the platforms shaping next generation audiences
Understanding of next gen audiences, their consumption habits and platforms
Comfort operating between underground cultural spaces and enterprise environments
Experience in campaigns and ideation aimed at reaching culture-first audiences
Exceptional communicator, storyteller, and strategist with bold ideas and operational rigor
Experience building or optimizing systems for scaling teams
A coach and mentor who thrives on developing talent and fostering autonomy
Required Capabilities
Earned media strategy experience, including strategy, creative writing and media relations
Understanding of how audiences engage with content on social media
Comfort with hybrid/remote team structures and cross-functional leadership
Fluent with AI and Saas platforms (Google Workspace (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheet, Slides proficiency), Slack, Notion
