Job Summary: Ensure reliable transmission system operations by performing engineering analysis, reviewing projects, maintaining EMS applications, and providing real-time technical support, resulting in stable grid performance and operational continuity.
Job Description:
Reviews and approves transmission engineering projects to ensure compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements, supporting safe and reliable grid operations.
Performs advanced electrical and reliability studies and delivers real time engineering guidance to Transmission System Operators and cross functional teams, strengthening system stability, improving operational decision making, and reducing outage risks.
Maintains and optimizes Energy Management System (EMS) applications including Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Contingency Analysis, and State Estimator to ensure accurate modeling and operational efficiency.
Provides expertise in real-time operations and power systems to support the development and implementation of effective solutions.
Monitors compliance and process effectiveness to ensure alignment with policies and continuous improvement.
Delivers training and guidance to stakeholders to enhance understanding and adoption of best practices.
Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.
Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.
Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience
5 years of experience, power system design, planning, construction or real-time grid operations.
Experience working with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.
Experience leading or collaborating with small projects.
Experience as matter-expert and asset resource to provide support to internal/external clients.

Licenses/Certifications
Professional Engineering License (PE) or Engineer in training License (EIT) Certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects.
Be a member of the Puerto Rico Association of Engineers and Surveyors.
