Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, load, stage, and store materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and shipping operations by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.

Load and unload trucks, trailers, and storage racks according to established procedures.

Follow all safety regulations, standardized work instructions, and traffic patterns within the facility.

Perform daily forklift inspections and routine Total Quality Maintenance (TQM) checks.

Verify materials, quantities, and documentation to ensure inventory accuracy.

Identify and report equipment issues, safety hazards, or damaged materials promptly.

Maintain clean and organized work areas, including staging and storage locations.

Communicate material status, shortages, or delays with supervisors and team members.

Essential Skills

Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Ability to follow standardized procedures and safety guidelines.

Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Clear communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

High school diploma or GED required.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and chest-high when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous forklift or material-handling experience preferred.

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).

Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping/receiving processes, and basic documentation.

Ability to operate scanners, pallet jacks, and hand tools as needed.

The pay range for this position is $40456.00 - $44000.00/yr.
