Requirements
Decontaminate complex surgical instruments and devices (drills, DaVinci components, scopes) to ensure patient safety
Assemble and organize instrument sets and trays across service lines, including trauma, loaners, and peel-packaging
Perform sterilization processes (Sterrad and steam) and conduct routine sterilization monitoring with biological and chemical indicators
Execute high-level disinfection and endoscope reprocessing (AER/HLD) for a wide range of scope types
Serve as an OR liaison to coordinate instrument flow, tray allocation, and timely delivery to points of use
Use Censitrac tracking to manage instrument lifecycle, sterile storage, and documentation
Standardize, procure, and maintain instrument trays across the health system to improve efficiency and consistency
Provide guidance and training to peers while maintaining compliance with infection prevention and facility policies
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of sterile processing/instrumentation experience in a facility similar to OSU (HARD STOP: 3 years required)
CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA/IAHCSMM) accepted
Required: Trauma Level II experience and teaching hospital experience
Preferred: Epic experience and Trauma Level I or community hospital exposure
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Ability to float to multiple reprocessing sites across the health system
Note: Prior OSU employees or previous OSU travelers will not be accepted
