Job Description*:

Windows Server Administration:

- Manage Windows Server OS (2012/2016/2019/2022) installation, configuration, and lifecycle tasks.

- Handle Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, certificate services, and cluster services.

- Perform user, group, and permission management following enterprise security standards.

2. Hypervisor Administration (VMware & Hyper V):

- Manage VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter, DRS/HA clusters, vMotion, datastore operations.

- Administer Hyper-V hosts, failover clusters, virtual switches, and VMs.

- Execute VM provisioning, migration, snapshots, templates, and firmware updates.

3. Patch Management:

- Apply OS/hypervisor patches and security updates using WSUS/SCCM/Intune or third party tools.

- Validate patches in staging before production rollout.

- Maintain patch documentation, rollback plans, and compliance evidence.

4. Troubleshooting & RCA:

- Troubleshoot OS failures, BSOD, hardware issues, storage/driver conflicts, cluster failover problems.

- Analyze event logs, performance counters, crash dumps, and hypervisor logs.

- Create RCA reports with corrective and preventive measures.

5. Hardware Lifecycle Administration:

- Manage server hardware: Dell, HP, Lenovo (iDRAC, iLO, XClarity).

- Perform hardware diagnostics, component replacements, and warranty coordination.

- Track server lifecycle, EOS/EOL, and maintain inventory accuracy.

6. Licensing Tracking & Compliance:

- Track Windows Server, CAL, RDS, VMware, and Hyper V licensing.

- Maintain license documentation, renewal cycles, and compliance evidence.

- Optimize licensing based on usage and cluster capacity.

7. Capacity & Performance Management:

- Monitor CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.

- Perform proactive capacity forecasting and performance tuning.

- Conduct periodic health checks and optimization reviews.

8. Backup, DR & Security Integration:

- Support backup/restore tasks using Veeam, Commvault, or similar tools.

- Validate VM-level and application-level backups.

- Support DR drills, replication checks, and security hardening baselines.

9. Decommissioning & Lifecycle Management:

- Retire legacy servers and VMs following compliance procedures.
