Resource Pool
Under the supervision of a Pharmacist: responsible for drug distribution services, order processing functions, the preparation of pharmaceutical doses, clerical functions, monthly unit floor inspections and departmental section checks to maintain adequate inventory levels of in-date pharmaceuticals on nursing units and the pharmacy department. Must also maintain the required professional and hospital competencies for a State Certified Pharmacy Technician and assist with performance improvement activities, as well as performing any other job-related duties as requested by a pharmacist or pharmacy management.

Education Qualifications and Ability Qualifications
• Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Technician Program
• If registered and not yet certified, certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Must have basic typing skills and a working knowledge of computers and equipment utilized in the
preparation, repackaging, dispensing and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
License/Certification Requirements
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician through SC Board of Pharmacy by (submitting
documentation for their required number of work experience hours as a pharmacy technician or
having met requirements to be grandfathered in by 2004) Required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and Registered as a ‘State Certified Pharmacy
Technician’ with the SC Board of Pharmacy in good standing Preferred
