Job Description
Building Maintenance Technician – Warehouse
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on warehouse building systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, doors, docks, and racking areas
Inspect facilities regularly to identify repair needs, safety hazards, and code compliance issues
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, outlets, fixtures, and control panels (within licensed scope)
Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including leaks, drains, restrooms, and water heaters
Service and maintain dock equipment such as dock levelers, overhead doors, roll-up doors, and seals
Perform basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring, and minor construction projects
Maintain fire protection systems (fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers) and coordinate inspections
Support conveyor systems and warehouse equipment maintenance as assigned
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and inspections
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of tools and spare parts
Follow OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
Assist with facility improvements, layout changes, and seasonal maintenance tasks
Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
Optional / Advanced Duties
Perform root-cause analysis on recurring equipment or facility issues
Train and mentor junior maintenance staff
Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and vendor management
