About the role
We are looking for a hands-on IT Systems Administrator / Desktop Support Engineer to build, run, and scale our internal IT environment as we grow. This role is for a true builder, someone who can support day-to-day end users while also designing the foundations of secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems with minimal process overhead. You'll own IT operations end-to-end: from desktop support and device management to Linux systems administration, cloud infrastructure support, and security controls. Success in this role requires strong technical fundamentals, comfort operating across multiple platforms, and the ability to turn ad-hoc startup needs into repeatable, well-documented systems. What you'll do
Own Tier 1-3 desktop and end-user support across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments
Administer and maintain Linux systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar), ensuring uptime, performance, and security
Own Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and access controls
Build and maintain device provisioning and endpoint management workflows for laptops, workstations, and servers
Implement and manage endpoint security, access controls, and identity management as the company scales
Automate repetitive IT and systems tasks using Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell
Partner with engineering and DevOps to support cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
Implement and maintain security controls aligned with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 requirements
Establish IT foundations: onboarding/offboarding, asset tracking, documentation, and support processes
Own and manage the user support ticketing system, driving responsiveness and continuous improvement
Proactively identify reliability, scalability, and security gaps-and drive pragmatic solutions Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in IT desktop support and/or Linux systems administration
Strong hands-on experience administering Linux systems, including user management and system troubleshooting
Solid experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune administration
Experience supporting macOS and Windows environments in a professional setting
Familiarity with device management tools (Intune, Apple Business Manager)
Experience supporting or collaborating on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Scripting and automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python
Working knowledge of security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or CIS controls
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company
Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, or version control systems
Experience supporting compliance efforts (SOC 2 audits, security reviews)
Background in building IT infrastructure from early-stage to scale
Relevant certifications (CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft 365 Certified, AWS SysOps, or similar) Benefits (subject to location and local regulations)
Competitive salary and equity
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
401(k) retirement plan
Flexible vacation and time-off policy
Collaborative, fast-paced, and inclusive work environment
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies with a highly cross-functional team
