BO reporting Developer - SAP BO

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain SAP BO reports, dashboards, and universes (IDT/UDT).

Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and joins across multiple data sources.

Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Develop and manage data models and BO Universes to support self-service reporting.

Ensure report performance, accuracy, and alignment with business KPIs.

Conduct unit testing, UAT support, and production deployment of reports.

Collaborate with database administrators and data warehouse teams to ensure data consistency and integrity.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report generation, performance, or data mismatches. Must Have Technical Skills:

Strong hands-on experience in SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, IDT/UDT, Universe Design, Crystal Reports).

Expert-level SQL skills - ability to write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries.

Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and reporting best practices.

Knowledge of joins, subqueries, CTEs, and performance tuning in SQL.

Familiarity with report scheduling, distribution, and security setup in BO. Nice to Have Skills:

Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.

Experience with data modeling and semantic layer design.

Understanding of cloud-based databases (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure SQL).

Scripting or automation knowledge (Python/Shell scripting) is a plus.
