Our experience includes commercial disputes, mass tort litigation, and personal injury litigation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. This role will involve a balanced practice, with at least 50% of the attorney's time dedicated to personal injury litigation and the remainder focused on commercial litigation matters. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Advocacy: Represent clients as lead counsel in depositions, court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings; serve as lead counsel in smaller arbitrations and trials; and as second chair or co-lead in larger arbitrations and trials.
Litigation Management: Handle complex commercial litigation matters (including breach of contract, corporate governance, intellectual property disputes, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and antitrust matters) as well as personal injury litigation.
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify relevant laws and precedents and apply legal principles to client matters.
Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other filings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and procedures.
Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide ongoing legal advice regarding litigation strategy, risk management, dispute resolution, and case evaluation.
Settlement Negotiations: Represent clients in settlement discussions with the goal of achieving favorable resolutions when appropriate.
Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, staff, clients, and experts to develop and execute litigation strategies.
Case Management: Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
Billing and Documentation: Maintain accurate time records and ensure timely, accurate client invoicing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active Texas bar membership in good standing
2–4 years of experience in commercial litigation and/or personal injury litigation
Experience handling depositions and courtroom advocacy
Experience with evidentiary and legal argument, including direct- and cross-examination
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage complex legal matters with professionalism and precision
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with trial preparation and managing high-stakes litigation
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$145,000 to $165,000 based on experience
