We are looking for a Senior Configuration/Data Management (CDM4) Specialist professional experienced with performing configuration and data management functions to support the Multi-Purpose Habitation (MPH) Project at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
MPH is intended to develop a lunar habitation module, in partnership with the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The MPH is targeted for deployment in the 2031 timeframe as an initial habitation capability for the recently announced Moon Base initiative.
This position will be responsible for fulfillment of tasks such as the Secretariat function for the MPH project control boards and technical boards, supporting milestone reviews, developing and maintaining CDM plans and board charters, and interfacing with international partners.
A specialized NASA-proprietary SharePoint-based tool, Change Management Workflow (CMW) will be used for the change management process, project baseline maintenance, and overall product and change activity status accounting.
Additional tasks include facilitating the development of presentations and products for project control boards, technical boards, and related CDM activities; managing action item tracking; managing data deliverables as required; managing access to the MPH SharePoint and CMW sites; and other tasks in support of managing project level data products.
Success in this position requires initiative and flexibility to meet project milestones, understanding of the principals of CDM, and significant experience in day-to-day CDM activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitate Secretariat support to project control boards and technical boards, including development and maintenance of charters, agendas, minutes and action logs.
Facilitate CDM guidance and support to MPH personnel.
Act as advocate for CDM processes, tools, and other CDM resources across the project.
Coordinate work activities of MPH CDM team members.
Support Records Management (RM) processes as part of ongoing archival activities per MSFC RM requirements.
Develop and maintain the MPH CM Plan, DM Plan or combined CDM Plan or CDM sections in the MPH Project Plan, and control/review board charters Develop and maintain the MPH Data Requirement List (DRL) as required or needed.
Implement data management in the electronic environment which may include establishing file/folder structures, capturing meta data, and creating input forms.
Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ITAR and other export control or proprietary contractor data following NASA and MSFC requirements and guidelines.
Education and Experience: MS/MA degree and at least 15 years' experience, or BS/BA degree and 18 years of experience required.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 core applications (Word, Excel & Power Point) is required.
Significant user or Administrator experience in SharePoint is required; experience with NASA CMW or similar CM/change tracking systems is desired.
Understanding functional leadership of core CDM functions is required.
Strong organization skills, ability to define/assign/monitor tasks for other team members, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through skills are required.
Records management and archival experience are desired.
Experience in managing receipt and processing of contractor data deliverables is desired.
Experience with US government projects and programs, and typical contractor roles and responsibilities in this setting is desired.
Professional CDM certification such as National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CDM certification or equivalent is desired.
This position may require international travel.
Current passport or ability to obtain passport is required.
Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC required (requires a STAR ID for badging). US Citizenship required.
