Job Purpose and Summary
The Flagger is responsible for ensuring traffic flows smoothly and safely through a job site, ensuring the safety of the workers and the public.
Responsibilities
Provide the job site with traffic control
Place signs according to plan prior to shift start
Adjust cone placement when needed
Understand the onsite work plan for the day
Understand when to send and stop traffic
Provide flagging services as needed
Maintain clear communication
Communicate with other Flaggers
Communicate with TCS for daily plan
Communicate with job crew to understand daily activities
Communicate with Traffic Control Manager about scheduling and project needs, any job concerns
Attend your station at all times
Maintain vigilant observance to traffic and report any dangers to site supervisor
Assist with any duties required to help the field or provide better flagging services
Work longer hours and Saturdays
Communicating with others both inside and outside the organization.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
No formal education or experience required.
Must have WA State/ OR State flagging card
Completed First Aid/ CPR Training
Must be 18 years of age or older
Training one day with experienced flagger or until new flagger feels comfortable.
Excellent decision making, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Understanding traffic and how it flows
Working Environment
Working conditions for this position will be mainly field work. Hours can vary depending on the needs of the project. Common hours range from 7am to 5pm with longer hours, night and weekend work necessary during the busy season or as project needs arise. Work is not consistent Monday through Friday but as project needs arise.
Frequent walking
Continuous standing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions of feet and hands/wrists.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $18.68 - $31.13 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
