Position: Quality Excellence Engineer
Location: New Albany, OH

JOB SUMMARY
Leads and supports Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives across all areas of operations by ensuring product quality, process capability, and adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. This role integrates hands-on quality leadership with data-driven problem solving, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and sustainable performance improvements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead inspection activities for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to ensure quality standards are met
Perform validations, first article inspections, and job closeout reviews for manufacturing processes
Review manufacturing and test documentation to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Identify, document, and disposition nonconforming materials in a timely manner
Maintain inspection standards, gauges, and quality records to support traceability and consistency
Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, Kaizen) to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and 8D to resolve quality issues
Lead defect reduction efforts, CAPA activities, and process capability improvements (Cp/Cpk)
Facilitate risk assessments using DFMEA and PFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Analyze production and quality data, tracking KPIs such as scrap, defect PPM, audit performance, and customer complaints
Utilize tools such as Excel, Minitab, or JMP to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making
Support and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), including audit readiness (ISO 9001, GMP), document control, and standard work procedures
Lead and mentor quality inspectors and operators, providing training and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Assist with any other duties and projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ years in manufacturing quality or process improvement
Knowledge of CAPA, control plans, root cause analysis
Experience operating within ISO, GMP, and FDA regulatory frameworks, or equivalent Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring compliance and system effectiveness.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills
Ability to read technical drawings
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience in stamping or discrete manufacturing preferred
Lean/Six Sigma exposure (Green Belt preferred)
