Title: CNC Machine Operator 2

Reports To: Mold & Machine Shop Foreman

Position Summary:

The CNC Machine Operator 2 is responsible for the operation of the CNC equipment including lathes and mills. The job involves repetitive tasks, and employees may be required to monitor multiple machines. This job also involves some problem-solving of simple setups. Typical job duties include, loading materials into the machine, monitoring machine operation during use, machine maintenance, deburring, and inspecting machined parts. This role will also require setting up machine (fixtures, tools, touch off, first piece inspection). An individual in this role is expected to be cross-trained to setup multiple machining centers and/or perform manual machining tasks.

Essential Functions:

Competent in CNC machining, including setup procedure, operation, and quality requirements.

Competent in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings and production documentation.

Math competency required. Ability to simple perform calculations required for machine setup and adjustments to maintain required dimensions.

Working knowledge of measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, and other instruments needed to conduct inspection of work product.

Understand and follow all Company and OSHA safety procedures.

Maintain a well-organized, safe and clean work area at all times.

Conduct and document preventative maintenance on the machines.

Perform quality inspections and maintain standards of quality during production.

Able to stand for more than 4 hours at a time.

Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Work a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as assigned.

Follow all safety guidelines as outlined in the company safety manual.

Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned based on organizational demand.

Skills/Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required

Minimum 2 yrs. of CNC machining and/or manufacturing industry experience

Experience with Haas, Doosan, and Fadal controls is a plus

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is a plus

Impeccable attention to detail

An analytical mind with good math skills

Great communication and interpersonal abilities

Must be reliable and trustworthy

Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
