Ignite a Passion for Nature! Nature Camp Teacher (Grades 4-6)

Do you love the outdoors and have a knack for inspiring curiosity in young minds?

SWL is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Nature Camp Teacher to join our team this summer! If you're eager to share your love of the natural world with children in grades 4-6, and help them explore the wonders of our local environment, then we want you on our team!

About Nature Camp:

Our Nature Camp is an immersive program designed to connect children with the wonders of the natural world. Campers will participate in hands-on activities like:

Forest exploration and wildlife discovery

Nature creative art expression

Critter identification

Plant identification and nature-based crafts

And much more!

Responsibilities of a Nature Camp Teacher:

Develop and deliver engaging and age-appropriate nature-based curriculum.

Lead safe and educational outdoor explorations, hikes, and activities.

Foster a love of nature and environmental stewardship in campers.

Facilitate discussions and answer questions about the natural world.

Supervise campers and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Maintain a positive and inclusive camp environment.

Collaborate with other camp staff to ensure a seamless program experience.

Qualifications:

Experience working with children in an outdoor setting (camping, environmental education programs, etc.) a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lead engaging and interactive lessons.

Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
