Full Time Cook

Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm no nights and weekendsOur enrollment is growing daily. We need exceptional, dedicated, FUN staff to join our incredible family. Creative Beginnings CDC is accepting applications for a full time Cook with experience in CACFP Food Program preferred. We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals according to our menus. You will cook dishes that will delight our children with their taste in a timely delivery. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be able to move around the kitchen and multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Responsibilities:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cook food in various utensils or ovens and stove top
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Ensure meals are prepared and plates are served in a timely manner
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Follow CACFP guidelines and allergy accommodations
Ensure all food and other items are stored and organized properly after truck delivery
Check quality of ingredients
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Develop skill in CACFP Child and Adult Food ProgramSkills:
Proven experience as cook
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Ability to work in a team
Very good communication skills
Excellent physical condition and staminaQualifications:
High School Diploma; Diploma from Culinary School will be an advantage
Previous experience cooking in a commercial kitchen or childcare setting preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Strong time-management and organizational skills
Passion for healthy eating and working with children
