Retail Pharmacy Tech - Westerville, Ohio

An established specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire placement in Westerville, OH. This role focuses on supporting patients with complex medication regimens, often managing 8-15 medications daily. Strong communication skills and patience are essential when working with chronic disease patients such as those with diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately using Pioneer Rx software (training available)

Provide compassionate patient interactions, particularly with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations with low literacy rates

Manage specialty medications tailored to complex patient needs

Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal patient care and medication management

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the top 200-400 retail drugs

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous retail and specialty pharmacy technician experience highly preferred

Demonstrated experience working with patients managing chronic illnesses (must be clearly stated on resume)

Strong patient communication skills, empathy, and professionalism

Pharmacy Technician license in Ohio required

PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

No weekend shifts

Contract Details:

Start date: Immediate availability preferred (starting Mon 11/3)

Duration: 13-week contract with opportunity for hire based on performance
