Inside Sales Representative

Job Summary

This is a base salary plus commission position

Responsibilities include qualifying new sales opportunities, building a pipeline of prospective customers, and closing lease transactions in our small to medium size customer segment. We are looking for a self-motivated sales professional with a passion for customer service and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment. This position will be based at our Chicago location and reports into the Commercial organization.

Job Duties

Establish and enhance relationships withs new and existing small to medium size customers.

Propose and negotiate lease terms and conditions.

Work closely with the Customer Service team to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met.

Effectively use the Salesforce.com CRM tool to manage call reports, opportunities, customer, and market information

Maintain and update the Commercial Events' Calendar as needed.

Develop and execute a sales business plan that will achieve corporate revenue goals.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of the North American rail industry, railcar types and their commodity applications

Understanding of operating lease terms and conditions

Ability to negotiate contract terms.

Excellent sales ability with a focus on long-term relationship building.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Cold calling skills are a must.

Strong Salesforce skills required.

Some travel to visit customers and industry conferences is required.

Experience

3 plus years of comparable or relevant experience in the rail and or logistics industry

Strong knowledge of the Rail sector and ability to discuss market dynamics.

Experience with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
