A respiratory care opportunity is available in Grove City, OH, within a specialized critical illness and rehabilitation setting. This contract role requires a skilled respiratory therapist prepared to deliver intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport in accordance with medical prescriptions and professional licensure.

Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, administering physician-prescribed respiratory therapies, and educating patients on treatments and equipment usage. Proficiency in operating various ventilatory devices-including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, nebulization, and suctioning-is essential. Additional duties include chest physiotherapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial puncture, and performing pulmonary function tests and 12-lead EKGs, along with basic arrhythmia recognition.

This role involves monitoring patient progress through oximetry, capnography, and review of chest x-rays, while coordinating with physicians to ensure optimal care delivery. The respiratory therapist will also assist in procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy and endotracheal tubes according to policy and guidelines.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Proficiency in medical monitoring equipment including oximetry, capnography, and EKG machines

Ability to perform advanced procedures such as arterial puncture and airway management techniques

Competence in documentation and interdisciplinary communication
