Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC / Building Services

Columbus, Ohio (On-site)

A well-established engineering consultancy within the construction sector is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Columbus. This role offers the opportunity to work across design, project delivery, and client engagement within a collaborative, in-person environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction

Design HVAC systems for commercial and industrial applications

Produce construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

Manage multiple projects and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams

Attend site visits and support construction activities

Contribute to proposals, estimates, and client development

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Approximately 10+ years’ experience in consulting engineering or HVAC/construction environments

Strong HVAC design experience, including chillers, rooftop units, piping, and ductwork

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)

Strong communication and project management skills

This is a fully on-site position.
