Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 5. The work will be done onsite in Pontiac, IL. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $56/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations and process improvements within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing assembly processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and support advanced manufacturing processes. This position offers hands-on involvement in both production and engineering activities within a fast-paced factory setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput using time studies and data analysis
• Troubleshoot assembly equipment and resolve production issues, including first-pass yield failures
• Develop and maintain APQP elements such as Process Flow, Control Plans, and PFMEA
• Review production data, logs, and reports to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (quality, operations, and engineering) to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly engineering environments
• Experience with APQP processes including PFMEA, control plans, and process flow documentation
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and production specifications
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with assembly and test processes in manufacturing environments
• Background in high-volume production or precision component manufacturing
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills for cross-functional teams
• Experience working in regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments
