This candidate should also be comfortable ensuring necessary utilities are working correctly and possess strong organizational skills in order to keep track of multiple projects at once.

Location: Columbus OH Department: Maintenance / Engineering Reports to: Plant Manager / Operations Manager Job Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and automation systems.

This role provides hands-on and strategic leadership for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, with a strong focus on robotics, automation, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance & ReliabilityLead and manage maintenance personnel, including technicians, electricians, and automation specialistsEnsure uptime and reliability of production equipment including presses, robotic cells, conveyors, and auxiliary equipmentDevelop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programsTroubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, PLC, and robotic issuesDrive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for equipment failures Robotics & AutomationSupport and maintain industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, etc.)Lead troubleshooting and recovery of robotic press lines, weld cells, and automated systemsSupport robot programming changes, backups, and system documentationWork with engineering and integrators on new automation installations and upgradesEnsure robotic systems meet safety and compliance requirements Leadership & ManagementTrain, mentor, and develop maintenance team skills, including robotics and controlsManage maintenance staffing, scheduling, and on-call supportDevelop and manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital requestsCoordinate with production and engineering to support launches and continuous improvementEnforce safety standards, lockout/tagout, and regulatory compliance Continuous ImprovementDrive improvements in equipment availability, MTBF, and maintenance costImplement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and TPM principlesSupport lean manufacturing initiativesLead capital equipment upgrades and obsolescence planning Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong hands-on experience with industrial robotics and automationSolid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsExperience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controlsProven leadership and team development skillsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Preferred QualificationsExperience in metal stamping or automotive manufacturingFamiliarity with safety standards related to robotics (ISO, RIA, OSHA)Experience with CMMS systemsKnowledge of servo presses, vision systems, and automated inspectionFormal training or certification in robotics or controls
