Sr. Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure in a remote role. While this position is remote, candidates must be located within Ohio. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with hands-on systems, networking, and automation experience who enjoys working across Linux, Windows, cloud, and virtualization environments.

Responsibilities

Design, support, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments

Manage and troubleshoot networking technologies including routing, firewalls, and VPNs

Support Active Directory, Azure, and VMware environments

Monitor system performance, availability, and security

Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management tools

Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Support hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure environments

Collaborate with IT teams to improve system reliability and scalability

Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives

Document configurations, processes, and procedures Qualifications

3+ years of combined Linux and Windows systems experience

3+ years of networking experience (routing, firewalls, VPNs)

3+ years of experience with Active Directory, Azure, and VMware

Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Hands-on experience with automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, or Chef

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively in a remote environment

Experience with AI-driven tools or platforms
