POSITION OVERVIEW
Under a general level of supervision, the IT Project Manager (PM) is accountable for the execution of Information Technology (IT) projects of moderate size, risk, and complexity. The PM employs their skills, talents, and knowledge of project management frameworks (e.g. Scrum, waterfall) to assure high quality products are delivered while optimizing the cost and delivery of value. The PM maintains complete transparency on the current state of the project, and maintains complete transparency on the forecast cost and delivery. The PM enables project stakeholders to make good business decisions based on project transparency. The PM coaches the project team members on the art of project execution as it pertains to the project management framework being utilized. The PM enables and promotes team level continuous improvement activities that increase quality and optimize delivery of value.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
1. Verify project scope and determine methods of managing and controlling
2. Plan, estimate, schedule and trend the less complex project
3. Estimate, budget and control project cost
4. Develop, implement and manage quality assurance programs
5. Identify and manage project risk
6. Develop and manage procurement plans
7. Coaches team members on project management skills and techniques
WHAT'S NEEDED
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, OR Associate's degree with 2 years' of related technical/project management experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of related business or technical/project management experience.
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years (in addition to any educational experience in lieu of degree as identified above) IT and Business experience including work in one or more of these areas: project management, Agile Framework, major construction, or engineering.
Required License(s)/Certification(s): Certification or degree aligned with project management discipline (PMP, or Scrum Master cert preferred)
Additional Requirements:
7+ years of experience managing projects that impact cross functional business areas. Experience managing teams.
Strong organization & communication skills.
Experience with water fall and scrum methodology.
Experience managing projects for Supply Chain & Purchasing business is preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience with Executive level status reporting
Experience with MS Project and Jir plus
Experience with multiple project types (e.g., in-house development, vendor, off-shore) is expected.
Knowledge and experience using multiple project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Waterfall) is a plus.
Promotes continuous improvement within the project team
Communicate effectively with peers, business partners, and mid-level management
