Position Summary:
Premium Peanut LLC is seeking skilled and motivated Mechatronics Technicians to join our maintenance team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a collaborative, project-driven environment and possess a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. Technicians will work in a dedicated four-person team focused on executing improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and system optimizations across our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to plan and execute mechatronics-related projects.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
Support the integration of new technologies and equipment into existing production lines.
Perform diagnostics and repairs on PLCs, sensors, motors, and control systems.
Document work performed, including updates to schematics, manuals, and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager and other departments to coordinate project timelines and resources.
Required Competencies & Skills:
Technical & Mechanical
Operation and maintenance of shellers, conveyors, dryers, and packaging equipment.
Preventive maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with automation systems, PLCs, and control devices.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
Quality & Food Safety
Product inspection and defect identification.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and sanitation protocols.
Accurate documentation of quality checks and maintenance activities.
Operational Knowledge
Understanding of peanut shelling process flow from receiving to packaging.
Monitoring of throughput, yield, and downtime metrics.
Awareness of inventory handling and traceability systems.
Safety & Compliance
Adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
Lockout/tagout procedures and emergency response readiness.
Proper use of PPE and hazard identification.
Teamwork & Communication
Effective collaboration within a project team.
Clear reporting and coordination with supervisors and other departments.
Willingness to train and mentor peers.
Digital & Analytical
Data entry using HMIs or digital systems.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Analytical thinking for process improvement and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work overtime as required.

• This position is located in a peanut processing facility where constant exposure to peanut dust and particles is unavoidable. Due to the nature of the work environment, we may be unable to provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with severe peanut allergies.
• Additionally, this role requires working at elevated heights, including climbing ladders and platforms up to 60 feet. Individuals with a significant fear of heights or related conditions may find this aspect of the job challenging.
