CHEM Teaching Assistant, Chemistry & Biochemistry

Job Summary The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for Teaching Assistants (TAs) for Fall 2026.

There are openings for assisting CHEM 254 lab sections.

Applicants must be pursuing an interest in the sciences in order to be considered (pursuing a major in chemistry or biochemistry is preferred, but not required). Chemistry & Biochemistry TAs will get the opportunity to develop their understanding of the materials at hand, gain further knowledge of topics that they previously learned, develop a professional relationship with new students, and develop their skills as educators.

Responsibilities 5-7 hour/week commitment.

Responsibilities include: * Prior knowledge and reasonable mastery of CHEM 254 material; * Availability to attend TA meetings on a weekly basis; * Assisting students in lab with relevant techniques and processes; * Assisting with the preparation of laboratory reagents and supplies.

Qualifications You must be an enrolled student at Oberlin College & Conservatory to qualify.

In order to be considered, applicants must have earned a passing grade in CHEM 254.
