Central Florida (Orlando Region) Full-Time On-Site

Position Summary

Apex Roofing (formerly known as Atlas Apex Roofing) is seeking a motivated and detail-

oriented Entry Level Project Estimator to join our estimating team in the Central Florida (Orlando

Region) market. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a driven individual with a construction-

related degree and foundational field knowledge who is ready to build a career in commercial

roofing estimating. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers,

learning every facet of the bidding and pre-construction process with a clear path toward

advancement into a Senior Estimator role. What we are looking for is someone who already

understands the basics of construction math and measurement and has the hunger to grow into

a full estimating professional.

Career Path

This role is structured as the entry point to a defined estimating career track at Apex Roofing.

High performers will advance to Project Estimator and Senior Estimator roles with increasing

autonomy over bid development, client relationships, and project scope. Estimators at Apex

Roofing work closely with our Project Managers and field teams, giving you broad exposure to

the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior estimators in performing quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings,

plans, and project specifications

• Support the preparation of detailed and accurate bid packages for commercial roofing

projects

• Learn and work within estimating software platforms to build and track project costs

• Conduct site visits alongside senior staff to assess existing roof conditions, gather field

measurements, and document site data

• Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world

conditions and scope

• Maintain organized bid logs, estimate files, and documentation throughout the pre-

construction process• Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and supplier quotes to support

competitive bid development

• Assist in post-bid analysis comparing estimated costs to actual project costs to refine

future estimates

• Develop working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation

methods over time

• Support the estimating department with administrative tasks, proposal formatting, and

bid deadline management

Qualifications

Experience

• 0–1 years of professional experience in construction estimating or project coordination

• Comfortable with construction math and measurement — you should be able to

calculate a roof square, read a set of plans, and work confidently with field dimensions

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and project specifications

• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

• Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Education

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

• Familiarity with CAD-based takeoff platforms such as RoofCAD, AutoCAD, or other

Autodesk products

• Exposure to construction estimating software or project management tools

• Any hands-on experience in a roofing, construction, or trade environment

• Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, or installation methods

Working Conditions

• Full-time position, primarily office-based with regular field site visits

• Must adhere to all safety regulations including OSHA and applicable state and federal

requirements when on job sites• Subject to random drug and alcohol testing per company policy or regulatory

requirements
