BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Sr. I&E Instrument/Analyzer Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of instrumentation, electrical, and analyzer systems across onshore oil and gas facilities. This role leverages advanced technical expertise and extensive field experience to perform inspection, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex instrumentation, process analyzers, and automation systems. The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and optimal production performance. The Sr. I&E Technician also plays a key role in diagnosing system issues, supporting startup and commissioning activities, and driving continuous improvement in equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect, maintain, and repair analyzers. (Valmet GC's, Servomex O2, Teledyne O2 CO NOX, Ametek air demand SO2, ESC data logger, Xtreme (Rosemount) CO2, Universal sample coolers, ADJ sample pumps.)
Maintain detailed records and follow reporting guidelines to address deficiencies.
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation (including control valves, regulators, flow meters, protective safety devices, pneumatic controllers, valve positioners, PSV's, etc.)
Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical devices and systems up to 66kV (including transmitters, industrial batteries, UPS systems, motors, generators, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, transformers, lighting circuits, etc.)
Inspect, maintain, and repair analyzers.
Perform repairs on radio and microwave sites, including emergency generators and associated equipment
Assist engineering with projects and other system upgrades
Maybe required to train and assist less experienced technicians as needed
May be required to perform other job duties outside your discipline
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
4 years in the oil field preferred
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and be familiar with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Gain continuing education and experience as an instrument and electrical technician through hands-on and formal classroom training
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to work alone
Must be able to take direction for supervisors
Must be able to work without direct supervision
Must be able to work 12-hour per day base schedule, plus overtime when required
PAY INFORMATION:
Hourly pay range: $46 - $58
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as copiers, printers, shredders, and computers. Also required is performing repetitive motions and extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking for varying lengths of time. The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via speaking, hearing and writing, learning new tasks, processes and concepts, thinking to solve problems, concentrating on required tasks, distinguishing color and depth perception and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
The position requires frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, crouching, pushing, reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering, reaching over the shoulders and below the waist, carrying of up to 75 lbs. while walking, lifting up to 95 lbs. to waist level and lifting up to 65 lbs. over shoulder level, the continuous use of both hands, arms, and feet and the manual dexterity to operate heavy and light tools, equipment, and materials.
The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails, and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
The position requires wearing personal protection equipment such as gloves, gas mask, suits, etc. with an average weight of 10-25 pounds. Must be able to work for extended periods of time using various personal protective equipment (including SCBA, electrical flash suit, chemical resistant suit, etc.)
