Job Description

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An established specialty retail pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a temp-to-hire role based in Columbus, OH. This position offers the opportunity to work with a complex patient population, requiring a compassionate, patient-centered approach and strong pharmaceutical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients taking multiple prescriptions daily

Deliver exceptional communication while assisting patients, many with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis

Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure safe and effective medication use

Utilize pharmacy software to process prescriptions and maintain records

Provide support with Medicare/Medicaid patient populations, focusing on those with low literacy levels

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

Proven experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician, preferably with a focus on chronic disease management

Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 drugs commonly dispensed in retail pharmacies

Excellent patient communication skills with patience and compassion

Experience or willingness to learn Pioneer Rx pharmacy software

Resume must explicitly highlight experience working with patients managing chronic illnesses

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

No weekend shifts
