Purpose of the Position

The Purpose of the Sales and Application Engineer- Plastics, Midwest. It is to achieve sales goals of the company’s Plastics and vision inspection products in the Midwest.

(North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, and Wisconsin)

Main Tasks

Respond to requests for technical, price, delivery, and service information

Provide advice on the appropriate application of plastics vision inspection related products

Develop and implement a sales strategy in conjunction with the Sales Manager

Identifies and penetrates OEM and plastics processing companies and coordinate strategy with the Sales Manager

Identifies unique market requirements and consults with the Sales Manager and Application Experts on special solutions

Maintain current knowledge of new and existing products and applications

Prepares customer price quotations

Assists in preparing special project proposals as required

Coordinates commitments with affected internal departments

Requirements Profile

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college preferred plus 2-3 years of experience in plastics sales or process engineer; or

Associate degree (A.A.S.) in Engineering Technology or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school plus 3 years of experience as plastics sales engineer or process technician

Experience in the application of pressure sensors, associated electronics, and software.

Controls of plastics processing equipment to measure evaluate and control machine function to achieve process optimization.

Requires engineering design knowledge, tool design is a plus.

Good written and verbal communication skills, knowledge, and use of Microsoft office products

Up to 50% of travel
