Bar Prep Assistant Forno Kitchen + Bar Columbus, OH

Forno is a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant and bar in the Short North known for strong service, a busy bar program, and a team-first culture. We’re looking for a Bar Prep Assistant to support the daily behind-the-scenes work that keeps our bar running cleanly, efficiently, and consistently.

This role is essential to setting the bar team up for success each day. You’ll be responsible for preparing fresh juices, syrups, garnishes, and batched cocktails, maintaining organization and cleanliness in bar prep areas, and helping ensure the team is fully stocked and ready for service.

What You’ll Do

Juice fresh citrus and other ingredients daily

Prepare syrups, infusions, and other cocktail components according to recipe standards

Batch cocktails accurately based on recipes and projected volume

Cut, prep, label, date, and store garnishes and prep items properly

Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe prep space at all times

Stock and organize bar ingredients, mixers, and back stock

Track pars and communicate low inventory or product issues to management

Assist with receiving and putting away bar-related deliveries

Support opening prep and other bar setup tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

Prep, barback, kitchen prep, or food service experience preferred

Able to follow recipes, prep lists, and systems with consistency and attention to detail

Organized, efficient, and comfortable working independently

Punctual, dependable, and ready to help the team every day

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

Comfortable using basic kitchen and bar prep equipment such as knives, citrus juicers, immersion blenders, and storage systems

Available for early morning and/or midday shifts

Positive attitude and willingness to take pride in repetitive but important work

Great bar service starts long before the first guest arrives. This position plays a major role in helping our bartenders work faster, stay organized, and deliver consistent drinks during busy service.
